Many office workers point out that their everyday drafting, translation and information sorting already rely heavily on these subscription AI tools, so once the service goes down a large number of tasks stall, and all they can do is wait passively for it to recover — hours of downtime come with no automatic compensation or refund.

Wanting to switch to a rival, they get stuck on barriers such as high prices, some platforms requiring a mainland phone number to register, and inadequate updating of overseas data; and there is generally no clear guidance on whether content submitted via a company account at work will be logged and reviewed by the IT department. Overall, paid AI subscriptions have become a productivity essential, yet stability safeguards, cross-platform switching and the boundaries of corporate use still lack mature norms.
